There are three languages spoken by Wabanaki nations: 1. Abnaki-Penobscot, whose two dialects are spoken by the Abenakis and the Penobscots,
2. Maliseet-Passamaquoddy, whose two dialects are spoken by the Maliseets and the Passamaquoddys, and 3. Mi'kmaq, spoken by the Mi'kmaqs.
