These trout were caught during a hunting and fishing expedition by John W.G. Dunn and friends in 1895 at Ragged and Moosehead Lakes in northern Maine. The bamboo fly rod and silk fly line display the manner in which the fish were caught. The larger fish shown is 1 1/2 lbs.

Here we see the men adjusting the canoes and loads after passing the Great Carrying Place near Roach Pond and Ragged Lake in the Moosehead Lake Region.

Camp members included Charles B. Dunn, Robert R. Dunn, Thomas E. Dunn, John W. G. Dunn and the Maine Guides Henry and Fred Trembly, Walter Merservey and John Mansell, as well as the three dogs Ben, Grouse and Foxie.
